Arborescence of Wrath have created an extremely pissed off version of death metal feels that like a wrecking ball to the forehead. It’s therapeutic in its own special way. After simmering behind the scenes for quite some time, Arborescence of Wrath have finally unleashed their vicious debut album that promises to be one of the most extreme displays of aggression in the style in recent times. The founding members have done well to put together a formidable lineup featuring members of notable bands such as Origin, Marduk and Benighted and have created some of the most violent death metal music in existence. And it’s not all noise and mayhem for extremity’s sake either; this is some superbly composed music with thought out structures and variations, only delivered out of pure anger with blistering speed and oppressive intensity. While their forceful execution of raw emotions may not be for everyone, it can’t be denied that such an unadulterated form of expression gives a rare kind of thrill that is nigh impossible to replicate sincerely and the kind of elevated catharsis that it provides is potentially life-collapsing. At the very least, it serves as a reminder of why we started listening to death metal music in the first place and reignites the overwhelming sensation of fear coupled with ecstasy that we all experienced at that point of time.
