Attila (Chris “Fronz” Fronzak)
Hi guys, welcome to truemetal.it! How’s life?
We noticed you have a huge group of fans on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean, but here, in the old continent, you still have to work hard, isn’t it? Just to start, would you like to introduce the band?
We are a band called Attila and we play Party Metal out of Atlanta Georgia
There’s a new album coming: “Chaos”. What can we expect from it? In my opinion your two latest releases sound a little bit closer to groove metal, especially “Guilty Pleasure”. Does “Chaos” go that way too?
We used our hip hop influence to make our album have more bounce and groove. We also made it way more heavy in some areas then before.
How did worldwide press judge your latest albums? What about the fans? Do you think that you’re going the right way or there’s something more (or different) to do?
You either love Attila or you hate Attila. We aren’t afraid to put it all out there and be extremely polarizing. There are haters and critics but obviously the positive outweighs the negative by far.
People usually consider you as a metalcore band, do you agree with that? How important is for you both metal and hardcore legacy and what’s the meaning of “hardcore attitude” for you?
We are Attila. We don’t consider us a metalcore band per say. We sound unique and are more party metal then anything. We keep it fun and heavy.
How’s life on the road nowadays? Travelling through many different countries and so on should be amazing, but how do you imagine your life in a parallel universe without playing in a band?
My life will always be crazy no matter where I am.
When you reach a certain fame being still a rebel at heart, you have to face lots of haters. What is your opinion: it’s only part of the game or even an opportunity to make your street cred grow stronger?
There is always going to be haters. We don’t care. We just keep doing what we are doing and itll never stop.
I think that most of haters simply didn’t understand that you are not a stupid moron, that you worked hard. Ironically act like a (good) boor is just part of the show, like wearing a mask. Do you agree?
We’ve worked really hard to gear where we are. Its fun and entertaining. You are exactly right though. Some people just don’t understand.
I know that you are interested in many different things, related to the web and mass communication, such as many other hardcore/metalcore band’s members (like Jamie Jasta, for example). You also created Spur app. Would you like to tell us something about? What are your interests outside music?
I love exotic cars and creating businesses. I love working hard and will always hustle and create new things.
Talking about internet: do you see it as an opportunity helping bands to grow in popularity or something dangerous due to filesharing and online piracy?
To me it is always going to be around. The people who want to buy music and support bands will. Social media has helped spread the word on who we are more then anything.
You also have your own clothing line… How does it go?
My clothing line Stay Sick has been very successful and we have branched out overseas. I love creating and being artistic.
Recently you signed with Sharptone Records, an imprint label of Nuclear Blast. What are your expectations?
Our team is just full of really amazing people and with our new labels help we will be able to expand there like we have America.
Where have you recorded “Chaos” and who was the producer?
We recorded in La with Erik Ron and it was our best experience to date.
Ok, we are about to finish our interview. Do you have anything else to say to European fans?
Check out our new album Chaos and we will see you next year.
Thank you and good luck!
