Cosmic Cathedral: il nuovo gruppo formato da Neal Morse, Chester Thompson, Phil Keaggy e Byron House annuncia l’album di debutto

I COSMIC CATHEDRAL, l’unione di Neal Morse (Transatlantic), Chester Thompson (Genesis), Phil Keaggy (Glass Harp) e Byron House (session player di Robert Plant, Dolly Parton, ecc.), sono lieti di annunciare la data di uscita del loro album di debutto “Deep Water”, in arrivo il 25 aprile 2025 su Inside Out Music.
Poiché il fulcro dell’album è la Deep Water Suite, della durata di 38 minuti, la band è lieta di presentare il video della prima parte di questo epico brano:
Il commento di Phil Keaggy:
“È stato un onore essere invitato e incluso nella realizzazione del progetto Deep Water con Neal, Chester e Byron”.
Gran parte dell’album è nato da jam session in cui Jerry Guidroz, partner musicale di lunga data di Morse, ha selezionato le parti più adeguate che successivamente sono state sviluppate dallo stesso Morse, che commenta così:
“Gran parte dell’album, e sicuramente “Time To Fly”, è nata direttamente dalle jam session, dove ci siamo trovati a creare spontaneamente nella stessa stanza. Anche molti dei testi sono nati nello stesso momento! È stato incredibile!”.
Il commento di Chester Thompson:
“Sono entusiasta che la gente ascolti finalmente questo album. C’è stata una grande connessione tra tutti i musicisti. Uno dei progetti migliori a cui abbia partecipato!”.
E detto da uno che ha suonato con Genesis e Frank Zappa, è una bella dichiarazione!
L’album sarà pubblicato nei formati Limited CD Digipak, Gatefold 2LP e in digitale, maggiori informazioni saranno comunicate nelle prossime settimane.

What resulted from all this was a more groove-orientated feel, which Morse calls a “prog meets yacht rock meets The Beatles” kind of album, with an unmistakable jazz fusion influence: “These guys are real groovers: even if they’re playing proggy stuff, it has more of a Steely Dan feel to it, but when Phil and I start singing it sounds like The Beatles! In Deep Water, the ‘New Revelation’ section is based on a jam that turned into something that could have been on a Sting album! So there’s a lot of variety here.” Keaggy adds: “The album is a musical feast- full of creative imagination and heartfelt lyrics. In my opinion, this recording is one of the highlights of my musical career!“
The band also recently announced their first live show, playing live at the annual Morsefest US in October 2025.
