Devin Townsend: annunciato “Devolution #3 – Empath Live in America”

DEVIN TOWNSEND è lieto di annunciare il terzo capitolo della sua serie Devolution. “Devolution #3 – Empath Live In America” sarà pubblicato il 4 agosto 2023 su Inside Out Music. “Empath Live In America” è la registrazione del tour che è stato interrotto all’inizio del 2020 a causa dell’inizio della pandemia.
Il commento dello stesso Devin:
“Ciao a tutti 🙂 continuando la serie di album ‘Devolution’ (che è stato un modo per noi per pubblicare piccole chicche oltre alle release canoniche) vi presentiamo ‘Devolution #3 – Empath Live In America’.
Questo è stato un tour davvero unico per me, che purtroppo è stato interrotto dalla pandemia. Era una versione ridotta della band di ‘Order Of Magnitude’ (senza coro e con pochi altri membri…), ma come cerco di fare con ogni tour l’obiettivo era quello di rendere questa serata unica e speciale. Pertanto questo tour è stata una versione ‘freestyle’ del materiale che ho composto. Non c’erano basi, click o una setlist, quindi ogni notte è stata unica e diversa. Il pubblico ha urlato richieste e noi siamo andati avanti. Il materiale è stato quindi interpretato in maniera unica!
Si tratta di una performance grezza e diversa dal normale e sono entusiasta di averla documentata. Fino alla prossima uscita ‘reale’, spero che vi piaccia questa rarità estrapolata da un tour così speciale, anche se sfortunato.”

For Lightwork, Devin decided to see what would happen if he included a producer (an experiment he has been excited to attempt for some time) to help guide this selection of material.
He chose long-time friend GGGarth (Richardson) to help bring this idea to fruition, and through a difficult (but wonderful) process, the next Devin album have been delivered.
The name ‘Lightwork’ represents the music, as well as the act of creating music, as a kind of ‘light in the dark’ while trying to navigate the seemingly endless challenges that life can often present.
When things seem like there’s no way out’ or that a situation becomes seemingly insurmountable, the connection to music, family, and creativity became a light in the dark that ended up in this wonderful album.
