Korn: annunciano il nuovo album “Requiem”, primo video online

Oggi i Korn annunciano il loro nuovo album in studio Requiem. In concomitanza con l’annuncio dell’album, la band condivide il video del singolo “Start The Healing” diretto da Tim Saccenti (Flying Lotus, Run The Jewels, Depeche Mode).

Il regista parlando della genesi di “Start The Healing” dice:

“La nostra idea per questo video era quella di mutare quell’aspetto del DNA dei Korn che li rende così stimolanti, il loro mix di potenza grezza ed emozioni umane.

Volevo trasportare lo spettatore in un viaggio emotivo, come fa la canzone, una morte e una rinascita viscerali e catartiche che, si spera, aiutino l’ascoltatore in qualunque siano le sue lotte personali.

Collaborando con l’artista 3-D Anthony Ciannamea abbiamo attinto alla mitologia dei Korn ed esplorato le loro fonti di luce e oscurità per creare un incubo horror surreale.”

A causa degli effetti del Covid e dell’impossibilità di suonare dal vivo, Requiem è stato concepito in circostanze molto diverse rispetto alla maggior parte del catalogo della band. È un album nato senza fretta e dalla possibilità di creare senza pressioni. Stimolata da un nuovo processo creativo senza vincoli di tempo, la band è stata in grado di fare cose con Requiem che gli ultimi due decenni non sempre si è permessa, come prendersi più tempo per sperimentare insieme o registrare diligentemente su nastro analogico, processi che hanno portato alla luce una nuova dimensione sonora e consistenza nella loro musica.

I fan stavano aspettando della nuova musica dopo che i Korn hanno condiviso in anteprima un frammento di “Start The Healing” all’interno di un filtro di realtà aumentata e cartelloni pubblicitari con l’iconico logo della band hanno iniziato ad apparire in tutto il mondo.
