L.A. Guns: le parole di Phil Lewis dopo la morte di Steve Riley

Steve Riley e Phil Lewis molto probabilmente non si sono mai particolarmente amati, ma insieme hanno scritto delle pagine indelebili e dei pezzi incredibili di robusto hard rock americano, bello carico di chitarre. Tanti, tantissimi concerti e tour fino alla sanguinosa separazione con inevitabili strascichi polemici e lo sdoppiamento della loro band, gli L.A. Guns, per qualche tempo addirittura con lo stesso nome, benché Riley avesse poi rinominato il proprio gruppo come Riley’s L.A. Guns.

Questa la dichiarazione di Phil Lewis successiva alla morte del compagno di mille battaglie Steve Riley:

 

Very shocked to hear about his passing today

He was a good guy and an excellent drummer. We toured the world together many times and countless adventures both good and bad.

Unfortunately we were never truly friend, in 30 years I never once visited his house and apart from band stuff we never hung out or went to dinner together. I think he valued his privacy and kept work and family very much separate

My condolences to his wife of over 40 years Mary Louis and Son Cole.
