Nel video riecheggia il sentimento della canzone, con il brano straziante offerto come omaggio al proprio cane, MiHo. Il commento di Maynard:
“Il 7 ottobre 2021 ho perso la mia musa. La piccola e micidiale MiHo ha perso la sua battaglia di due anni contro una pancreatite e una malattia renale. Pensavamo di averla persa alla fine del 2019, così sono andato nel panico e le ho scritto questa canzone. Eravamo sicuri che fosse finita. Ma siamo stati benedetti con una seconda possibilità e un po’ più di tempo. Raramente condivido cose come questa. È troppo doloroso. Ma questo non può essere tenuto nascosto. Come ho detto prima, si è nascosta nella maggior parte delle mie tracce vocali, dal 2005. Era dentro o vicino alla cabina di registrazione ogni volta che facevo un tracking. Il suo sospiro, i suoi abbai, il raffreddore e gli starnuti. Il suo collare tintinnante. I suoi giocattoli cigolanti.

“La voce di Maynard per questa canzone è sinonimo un inno doloroso. Volevo che la voce principale, il basso e la batteria fossero ancore in un mare di caos giubilante. Una sorta di cacofonia controllata. Familiare ma un po’ snervante. Trombe e sassofoni alla fine si muovono tutti insieme ma in qualche modo così sciolti, si disperdono in schiuma e poi tornano insieme in un’onda armoniosa e poi si staccano di nuovo, come una cascata.”
“Existential Reckoning: Re-Wired” offre una reinterpretazione traccia per traccia delle 12 canzoni di “Existential Reckoning”, album dei Puscifer pubblicato nel 2020 con l’attuale formazione accompagnata da Greg Edwards (Failure, Autolux) e Gunnar Olsen. La squadra vincitrice dell’Academy Award di Trent Reznor e Atticus Ross affronta “Apocalyptical” (Reznor ha un credito di co-writing con Maynard James Keenan e Mitchell nella canzone dei Puscifer del 2009, “Potions”), Phantogram rinnova “Postulous,” Il batterista Sarah Jones e Jordan Fish dei Bring Me The Horizon rimaneggiano “Theorem”, Troy Van Leeuwen (Queens of The Stone Age, A Perfect Circle/Failure) collabora con Tony Hajjar per “Grey Area” mentre Justin Chancellor unisce le forze con Scott Kirkland dei The Crystal Method per “UPGrade”. About PUSCIFER:
Born somewhere in the Arizona desert, Puscifer is an electro-rock band, multimedia experience, traveling circus, and alien abduction survivors. The group’s catalog consists of four full-length studio albums: “V” is for Vagina [2007], Conditions of My Parole [2011], Money Shot [2015], and Existential Reckoning (2020) — in addition to a series of EPs and remixes.
