Founded in 1979, Bay Area legends Vicious Rumors established themselves with two classic releases on Shrapnel Records before signing to Atlantic where they found further international success touring with the likes of Savatage, Megadeth, Accept and Testament. During this period the band made two videos with director Gore Verbinski, who went on to direct movies including Pirates Of the Caribbean and The Ring.
This brand new 29 track, 3CD package features three full albums from the 1989-1992, including their classic major label self-titled debut (1990), the revered follow up ‘Welcome To The Ball’ (1991) and their hard-to-find live album ‘Plug In And Hang On – Live From Tokyo.’ (1992). Geoff remembers the studio albums “perfectly captured the chemistry of the sound we created in the early 80s by mixing traditional heavy metal with elements of speed, thrash and power.” Featuring extended liner notes from respected rock journalist Dom Lawson and exclusive contributions from Geoff Thorpe, the release is essential for fans of power metal, thrash and traditional heavy metal.
The band continue to record and tour, releasing their thirteenth studio album ‘Celebration Decay’ in 2020. The band will tour extensively in 2023 for the Atlantic Years World Tour! Dates are being booked now as the band will perform all classics songs from these albums with Ronny Munroe ( Metal Church/ Trans- Siberian Orchestra ) on Lead vocals. Ronny joins VR at the perfect time to carry on the VR Legacy on this special tour and Studio albums to follow. Some headline gigs will feature both ” Vicious Rumors” and ” Welcome to the ball albums performed in there entirety for the first time ever!
