Voivod: ascolta “Condemned To The Gallows (2023 Version)”

I canadesi VOIVOD festeggiano quest’anno 40 anni di attività con uno speciale album in studio intitolato “Morgöth Tales”, in uscita il 21 luglio tramite Century Media Records.

“Morgöth Tales” è un album di brani riregistrati dalla formazione attuale, 9 brani accuratamente selezionati e un brano inedito, la title-track.

Da oggi è disponibile su tutte le piattaforme streaming “Condemned To The Gallows (2023 Version)”, il primissimo brano inedito nella storia della band canadese, presentato per la prima volta con la raccolta Metal Massacre V Compilation nel 1984:

Il commento del cantante Denis “Snake” Bélanger:

“‘Morgöth Tales’ inizia dove tutto ha avuto inizio. ‘Condemned To The Gallows’ è stata la prima canzone mai registrata in studio. Ricordo di essere rimasta scioccato quando ho  sentito la mia voce per la prima volta, ero un po’ intimidito. Mi ero unito alla band solo pochi mesi prima e non sapevo come cantare o se ero capace di fare il lavoro.
Così mi sono tuffato e questa avventura di 40 anni stava per iniziare. Rivisitare questa canzone è stato un vero viaggio. Tornare indietro nel tempo quando eravamo giovani e selvaggi, riconquistando quella stessa furia interiore che ci ha portato fino ad ora mi ha fatto capire che lo spirito non invecchia mai.

Grazie alla mamma, che ha tenuto ben conservato, l’unico foglio di testi esistenti sulla superficie di questo pianeta, con la mia calligrafia sbavata e mancina. Altrimenti saremmo stati fregati!”

L’album è stato registrato e mixato da Francis Perron presso il RadicArt Studio, masterizzato da Maor Appelbaum e prodotto dagli stessi VOIVOD. La copertina di “Morgöth Tales” è stata creata dal batterista Michel “Away” Langevin.
